This programme is based on the natural, no nonsense principle that losing weight means getting your energy balance right! No fast but temporary results through liposuction or extreme fasting, but professional support to help you achieve the necessary change in life style. This will lead to long lasting weight reduction, a healthier body and a higher quality of life. The same principle can be applied if you want to maintain your current weight, or increase your weight.
For weight reduction one needs to find the right energy balance between calorie intake versus calorie use (burning). In this case the energy balance should be negative, which means that your body should use more calories than you consume! To achieve this it is necessary:
- To reduce calorie consumption by limiting your total food consumption and especially those products which are rich in fat and / or sugar.
- To increase your use of calories by increasing the intensity and duration of exercise
- For fast results and long lasting weight reduction do both!
Body shaping is partly the result of weight reduction or weight gain, but will be accelerated in those body parts where you and your personal fitness trainer put the emphasis of your exercise programme. This will allow you to reduce body size in some areas, while increasing muscle tissue in others, resulting in a well-toned and fit body.
The Spring Group Dietician will develop your personal diet, taking into account your existing food pattern and your preferences, as well as your daily routine. Your medical history and earlier experience with diets will also be considered. Intensive counselling will help you to stay motivated and to succeed in changing your food habits for the better.
The Spring Group Fitness Instructor will start with a fitness assessment, after which an individual fitness programme will be developed. This programme aims to increase caloric burning to achieve weight reduction and to bring your body in the desired shape! When your goal is to gain weight the programme will be targeted to building up certain muscles. The personal one on one training methods will teach you how to maximise the results of your exercises and how to appreciate exercise as a pleasant part of your life.
